Some of the sounds that I will use will be created in a folly room manipulating real life sounds and connecting them to objects and things within the film I will asses the set and props we will be using during the filming in post
the tense sound scape to be built up will be manipulated atmosphere and high hats and other instrument's that may add to the feeling of the film for the opening scene would tension
obviously because the scripts background is white but the soundscape that will be created in the beginning will be from high hats and other instruments that I will create myself like most of the sounds I will also use other applications tailored for creating sound like pro tools audition and other tools am used to editing sound on
as for the 5 words I will create sounds and manipulate the atmosphere with sounds and voices related to the word and then have the words itself pronounced by the actors and different people
an example of what type of tools I would use to create ad manipulate the sounds recorded on set and ones that I make up for myself I will be using my friends keyboard and will create various sound tracks to fit different scenes in the film and then an ending soundtrack also created by myself
I believe because this films such a delicate subject I cant completely dominate the film entirely with sounds that I create natural sounds like traffic wind birds and many other sounds can and will be used to match the atmosphere of the film not entirely but as a base also I believe using the actors own voices and getting them to repeat some words can add to the over all feeling of the fil I will be looking into what its like to be schizophrenic and so on
I will also be looking into the script further and finding out what other sounds and soundscapes are needed and working with Ethan and Logan and Billie in post to help fit sounds into the right place and so on speech will also be a part of my work and I will continue to create off of that
this is another great example of how I can manipulate and mix sound I don't have a home studio like him but I can record at uni and mix home once I get my imac and if not ill be mixing elsewhere in the process of getting a mac for myself to mix in the comfort of my home
the equipment i will be using for our studio shoot will be
rico basket
Longer cables
Fish pool
Boom mic
Zoom mic
for my idea to work when contributing to our shoot before and after the shoot it'll all be based on distorted and disrupted sounds ill be looking at horror sound tracks Hannibal lecture eraserhead david lynch and films like paranormal activity and so on all these films feature sounds and slow building sounds that keep you on the edge of your seat and keep you paranoid i will be looking to emulate the shuttle sounds i hear in all these different films
another example of great sounds is this film
i will also be looking at the ocean heart a sound effect used in a lot of films and thriller flicks and horror films too i would love to use this sound and if not recreate it in post production
ill be tailoring my sounds around the characters and there emotional reactions to situations like the super ego is about trying to impress other and creating the most perfect image of yourself possible
the id is only about self and has animalistic instinct the character is about being self centered and almost primal if i can create sounds to match these things and draw the audience towards each individual character and also then tying them together through sounds and movement thats my job
the words
you can't control us
each word will be repeated during the film at different stages in the film and broken up to almost define the scene at a pace a rate that should be accepted by the audience
" a long-term mental disorder of a type involving a breakdown in the relation between thought, emotion, and behaviour, leading to faulty perception, inappropriate actions and feelings, withdrawal from reality and personal relationships into fantasy and delusion, and a sense of mental fragmentation. (in general use) a mentality or approach characterized by inconsistent or contradictory elements."
I believe this particular mental issue is almost a direct representation of the saying "you your own worst enemy" for this project i believe the speech of the actors being used is very important and will determine how the audience takes in whats happening along with the visuals in our film the space of the set and the atmosphere created will all be manipulated here's an example of a soundscape id like to create
hopefully we don't go crazy trying to make people relate and feel what the actors going through the illness is a manifestation of all your worries and negative thoughts and only the person with the illness can understand that fully people experiencing this from a viewed perspective may not totally get it without research
everything they go through is amplified and uncomfortable their dreams are irregular and this mental issue is like living in a real nightmare everyday
i believe post production will be equally as important as live recorded sound and taking in atmos from the set this is gonna be fun and knowing my own doubts and fears and getting a chance to express some of what i go through when am down will be dope and weird almost at the same time
Initially my idea in terms of this project was to use my parents and the experiences they had when moving from Nigeria after being raised in that country separate from the western world and only hearing about London and maybe seeing it in newspapers and on television to actually moving out there and trying to grasp the opportunity in this country and make sure i didn't grow up in the same hardships as they did
sadly me being born here and growing up here it was challenging to get them to lose up the culture grip they had on me they took from the struggles they faced and the tough love approach their parents used and forced me to grow up under that same pressure refusing to budge and standing by their principles and it is this notion of me not being as hungry for the so called opportunities that are in this country not really taking a liking to the education produced and taught and being more interested in sports music and other forms or art that frustrated them and ultimately causes unto clash and as a result of this didn't allow me to even approach them about may idea
to them being a loner or a doctor or some other boring ass title is what should be aiming for because obviously in Nigeria due to the system and the lack of these especially in the time they grew up it was important because of the lack of the people that actually make it and become these things
i view these jobs as straight up boring i don't want to be a doctor or a lawyer or anything like that I've worked in a hospital I've seen these peoples faces up close they don't look happy or seem like they live life happy either so ill use my frustration or being stuck in my house with my parents and there stupid tradition and lack of empathy for my ambitions and goals and desires as the foundation of this project of mine ill be expressing myself through speech and an ending poem i think no i know i am a free spirit i like to express myself through my sport speech tone of voice even my laugh i believe that is what art is about expression thought doubt and emotion being limited by my own parents is a very daunting feeling especially when they believe that they are right no matter what and that i either am too lazy to pursue these ideas and expectations of theirs or that am not smart enough i know that its neither i am purely disinterested i go by my emotion what fuels me what makes me happy what interests me film interests me music interests me art and photography interests me i would want to live my life being exactly that an artist whether it be in the form of a poet photographer videographer sound designer or producer i need to know what its like to create the things i love and share them with people i know and even people i don't so in order to this i must learn that is why am here thats why am taking this course DFSA digital film and screen ARTS
to me right now the best way to express myself that i know currently is through sound and poetry i can word it pretty well and some people who either speak to me or have heard my poems say am good with words on or the few people who i learned this form of expression from is a ma that goes by the name of George the poet i heard him on angels album called about time and it was way to fitting for me to here such a piece and fully take up this art here is some of his work
and other poets who can express themselves and also inspire other people not being typical and only talking about politics and the government to me mind maps and networks is about taking up a particular subject and finding out the root of it the path to a destination that you can see but don't hear enough of no offence at all intended but to me id rather learn about myself first and find out what i like and dislike more than how the world works its a scary place fully of people that all have their own idea of how life should work its easy to show me examples of artists but am always hearing about the same artist who hung from walls and ceilings then to me it becomes played out repetitive and boring there has to be way more artists than am shown and ill be looking into the ones i like in terms of this project ill be doing an audio piece and probably use something visual for the audience to look at or maybe a sequence of pictures that relate to my childhood and other things connected to the culture and my home discipling things like a wooden spoon old pots and so on the bible and so on and so forth
for example a wooden spoon
a belt
an old TV
these are things that molded my mind and has effected me forever along with my parents they used these items for discipline for limitation and so on all these thing will be part of my poem
Part of the poem
Culture Choke hold
Wooden spoon - the wooden rod used in discipline on the palm or your hasand it is the foundation and the signal for me in terms of what parents view in right aand wrong its also used to mix and stir fUood that also aSdds to my growth physically
Television -Talking box that stole my attention and time and imagination i went from writting stories to watching them i went from drawing characters to waiting till the clock struck and the tick in the tock ticked till a certain time so my mind was captured ironically myparents also watching this box more than i did but hated when i wanted to watch hypocrisy at its finest saying they are old enough to do so because they have lived and i haven't and how i should be focusing on my books instead of the box i was lost
These Things I highlighted brings me to the motivation behind my poetry before I could write I had a meeting with Rosie and she suggested I looked into some other artists and see how they found their place in the art world I see myself as an artist that can translate his pain and emotions through poetry I think the people Rosie offered me to look at all was able to express their different emotions in different ways
Chris Offili
to me this whole structure tells me that offili broke art ironically he designed painting to exist in a room that was bought by the tate modern and even had to be censored in 2005 him and David Adjaye created something that relates to me in so many ways that I could type for ever since this is only about my inspiration I can boldly say they gave me the confidence to do what I love believe in myself and push the envolpe and also its okay to be personal with your art
two of my personal faviotes from him are
Blossom
No Woman No Cry
I could've easily looked up each paintings meaning but I like to have my own thoughts behind it and talk about how it inspires me this guys not a poet but as an artist he's showing me that you can take something and make it your own it doesn't have to be exactly what people want cause your art is about you and allowing people to feel and take it in the way they want not looking for meaning so to me I appreciate what he does and he's influenced me in terms of self awareness and love and growth in ones self which adds to why I chose to do what I did for my mind maps in a way you could say Chris pointed the way and gave me a sense of direction
Paul McCarthey
he's the root of my choice to let out my frustration anger and every other emotion I felt out he is one of the greatest writers and song composers ever and to constantly reinvent himself and move with the different ages in pop is outstanding to me at 74 still making classics still composing music for everyone to listen to and still playing and performing all because of his dedication to his work channeling his life into his songs and working and sharing with everyone I admire and take from that
the song 4,5 seconds featuring McCarthy is a great song to me and helps almost explain what it is I go through during my time at home and waiting to get away for the weekend because the stupid amount of pressure I get put under by my parents and other people I connected with this song and it was almost like a go ahead from him in my search for inspiration and influences when writing my poem I so glad I looked McCarthy up even through in this particular song he's only featuring the message behind it is clear and I'm glad he chose two of my fav artists to contribute to the song
now as for my poem I have listed people that helped along the way different songs an items that added to my decision to write what I did but the main reason for writing this was because I had to find a way to let all of the emotions out and realise that I am only in this situation for as long as I allow myself to be if I can get over it and start doing things for myself then I can learn from the experience and move on instead of just being in it and licking my wounds the fact of the matter is no matter what happens my life is my life I have to make choices for myself my parents don't rule me they can only guide me and because of how much they love me and their own experiences they may see my stubbornness as an insult its not I have to get back out and be in my own space the first step is to cut out all the means words that are said and all the doubt and use that as fuel for my own independence when I finally get back out again I'm not getting any younger so I made the poem expressing my frustrations thoughts and anxieties that have ruled my mind for years and in writing this down and letting it out I have freed myself from my parents mind map and have begun walking and living along my own path which is why this whole project went from being about them to being about me its my art and its my life to live not theirs I have to live with that and so this poem was born
Wooden spoon - the wooden rod used in discipline on the palm or your hand it is the foundation and the signal for me in terms of what parents view in right and wrong its also used to mix and stir food that also ads to my growth physically
Television -Talking box that stole my attention and time and imagination i went from writing stories to watching them i went from drawing characters to waiting till the clock struck to have my mind fixed on the screen and my eyes stuck watching every movement of each character little did know that these toons would shape my character
The belt - leather rod it speaks for itself to unleash such a force of inconceivable pain and is the same pain that keeps me stand up and to the point and also keeps my jeans trousers and any other form of clothing locked whenever I fall f or slouch or bend in anyway still the belt remains
The house- the cage the one that contains and is a constant reminder of all of the best and worse of me all that i was and part of what i came to be in this so called house who many should call a home but isn't a place of comfort and security that i perceived it to be harsh discipline brash words and stern culture with non budging parental figure who refued to be moved by my tears screams and begging only to say i will understand one day till now u still don't i only refuse to allow it to stop me a free spirit i must be for freedom of freewill to serenade spiritual song to soothe my soul from focred fellowship and continuous prayer that i am not connected with because i don't have a choice and they say aslong as i am under their roof i am under their rules and rule my life they did but that is the past my past a page in my books chapter that i am past and shall part ways with it this poem is proof or that still i remain within these walls till POOF am gone only to show myself when the season is right so i write because i had treasures in my own vault that stayed behind i door in my life that i need to still step through
My vision is clear because i visualize myself with a lot still left to see so i float on my toes so i can tread these tremendous waters that are built with foundation of a storm that am living in with elegence and grace like jesus did praying on my knees only if feel so i can breathe now in a culture choke hold no more for i know this it exists but doesn't define me
Recording sound on location or in a studio, usually in synchronisation with the camera, to enable the highest quality 'real' sound to be recorded at the time of filming
They monitor the quality of the sound recording through headphones and work closely with the Director, Boom Operator and sometimes the Sound Editor, often using multiple microphones.
This is a qoute taken from a website that i found breaking down what it actually means having done it myself and also wanting to specialize in this role and engineering in genral i think once again is part of what Rosie is doing to push me to be what i want having to take the time to research this and see the equipment and learning about the different roles within sound just increases my hunger and passion to do it
I chose this picture because you can see what the sound recordist is doing and how close he is to the action and to the camera operator some people don't really think of being a sound recordist as import well to the casual film watchers or critics we don't really get mentioned or enough credit but to people that study film and are in the industry we all understand that without sound there is no movie
one thing that irritates the life of me is really rubbish headphones when am recording live and even more in post production when am listening to what I have I think as part of the equipment good comfortable headphones are essential when listening to or recoding sound now in a lot of a cases me personally I like to use DR.Dre Beats headphones ironically a lot of sound technician's hate it because they say its only good for listening and not mixing in my case being someone who wants to specialize in sound recording and listing and recording on live set I always make it a priority of mine to always use my own headphones instead of the rubbish ones we get given or that come with the equipment to me having your own preference in headphones is part of being a sound recordist to me it comes down to what you here first then how to present that and show that to the team and directors
As a sound recordist or sound man you often find yourself recording in very uncomfortable situations take the above image for instance you can see from the look on his face that he is not comfortable at all his arms look strained and his face you can tell he is trying his best to make sure he's at an angle or particular distance this is also part of being a sound recordist
Here are some of the artist and known people I look up to
Hans Zimmer
Even though a lot of people know him for what he does in post I love his work live he may not particularly be on set but if ever I needed motivation to chase what I love doing I always reference back to hi because his work is timeless and just as beautiful live than in post
DR.Dre
From a personal experience and in the fact that I love his brand of headphones and listen to his music so much I am always inspired by him and what he produces I was never around for his live work or performances but I wish I was to fully experience what it was like back then living legend in producing music and sound and id love to be at such a level one day
so in closing being a sound recordist is being the life of the film and the energy of the film crew the role is important as it is to record and manage all the sound taken on set and possible adding and recording folly or supervising someone else in the team that does love this role and would like to master every aspect of it
this man represents himself and his mind and uses his art to let out his ideas thoughts and expression he speaks through art and i think i finally get why Rosie chose to give me this man to research because he also uses writing to express himself and me as a poet i can learn from him if i am able to channel my emotions ideas thoughts opinions and values through what i create literally and if am able to do this i can become great and i also believe i will earn respect like this man this coming from France and choosing to base their art from migration its a strong issue to use and i am still learning from it
as for the maps and networks his own art is going and placed in the direction of social issues and immigration being a voice for the minorities in France that don't have a way out and or refuges that have been deported he lived in this atmosphere and in such a depressing environment and he is speaking and expressing himself to the public and in his own words to an "imaginary judge of the European court" from this alone you can tell and as the article i quoted from patrick works with other artists to be heard and recognised through there work and also him as an individual has taken responsibility for his work by choosing to speak out about the lack of freedom in expression they face as creatives this is what some of his work represents
As the sound producer it was my job to capture the life of the overall project of our film are angle was to take the audience and use what they saw and heard as a character so building the soundtrack with jay was a challenge because we had to capture all the live sounds and manipulate them so the audience could feel every scene we achieved this in post production using the equalizer and correcting the sound and using pitch shifter i myself created the backing track and contributed to the platform of life of the film by providing a soundscape that put your mind in each scene jay handled the decoration sound and enhanced the type of sounds you would be surrounded by depending on the scene for instance if you was in the city you would hear traffic lights cars people talking and even airplanes depending on where you was and if you was in a rural environment you would hear natural sounds like trees blowing birds singing ducks qwacking and so on we made the choice to combine both elements to add depth to our film and the sound acts as another layer in our film that puts you in position to experience what we experienced while filming our film "ment" combines the visual aspects and sounds of the city with the broad and clear landscapes and sounds of nature in a rural setting our film asks the question of weather one environment overshadows the other and do us as humans benefit with both or one or the other the sound gives you another element of the film by making both the city and rural environment strand out and highlights the fact that both environments futures eachother
Today i finally got learning about sound and what it means and the other producers and designers from what i remember from when i came James spoke Acousmatic sound this basically means abstract sound i found this word very interesting i may even use this word later on in my studies
further on in the lesson James explained the meaning of DB which is decibels not sure if i spelled that write but that is the measurement of pressure within sound 0 and negative numbers being nothing at all unless amplified
he also mentioned the amount of hrs a normal human can hear hrs is the pulls of pressure in noise and sound the average human can hear from 20hrz to 20,000 although James said the max is really 19,000
he game me plenty of examples of producers of sound and sound designers these people are
Royji ikeda
Avalanches
DJ Shadow
Amon Tobin
just to name a few i really had fun today as i want to be a sound designer/producer of sound i need to know more and i have really taken a liking to Royji Ikeda and DJ Shadow
And so it begins my project to design a sound related to the angle of the north photo
At the start i thought about everyone that inspired me hans zimmer, DJ Shadow, Hudson Mohawke DJ Musterd and so on i wanted to copy or sample their work and turn it into my own so i looked at their work
i took a look at the artist kid ink
Hudson Mohawke
DJ Shadow
these peoples sounds and style and art forms inspired me to do more than just sample ironically even though they sampled theres nothing better than having your own sound and identity so in understanding that it wasn't about were i recorded my sound it was more about how i created my sound how did it relate to this angle of the north and how could i pull this off well in knowing that the Scottish tradition features the bag pipe and channeling that into a sound i came up with something on the programme Ableton Live 9 with a mixer and key's and then transporting the created sound to audition and after speaking with James my tutor i decided to push myself a bit more and search for more out of my creation so i used auditions amplify effect and the fade in and fade out points to manipulate how my creation sounds and high and low points of the sound and also the strong points of the creation this was the result
in the end i was happy with what i created it was different and original
my twin screen project was another tough project to come up with based on the fact the the after effects program was new and me personally i didn't like the amount of limited time we was given on this project because we was learning and struggling to create something at the same time but like my mum always says you have to flow with the pressure my only concern was becoming predictable with my ideas and how i express my concepts with my art and struggling to use different programs that am not familiar with and then using it to create something am happy with a program am not happy with but i guess greatness is stepping out your comfort zone and still coming up with something spectacular so after a month of familiarizing myself with after effects and grasping the concept of twin screen my first idea was to use my poetry and perform one piece but splitting myself into two and having it done like a back and forth between myself
this idea was scrapped based on the fact that i have been relying on my poetic talent a bit too often i didn't want to do it because i felt wrong and less confident since i have basically used this idea for similar projects in the past
i was still annoyed about what to actually create because i am my own biggest critic so i was running out of time and i had ti use my brain so i embraced my athletic side and used my game recorded footage to inspire and idea that was a dream of mine of being on TV and hearing my name being announced
this show inspires me almost daily due to the passion and intellect they show when speaking on sports and players racial issues within and around sports and the way all three are able to balance jokes sarcasm and a level of seriousness that i really admire
so with that i began to form my second part of my twin screen and decided i was going to commentate on myself playing basketball and i was scared of the idea because playing and commentating is completely different even though the sport itself links the two genres together
so then came my set up for how i wanted to look as a presenter and i hired out a studio and began to imagine what and how i am going to look like and by grace the studio had different types of cameras around so i decided to include them in my shoot to give my look a proper studio feel and the TV cam in handy in post production as i created a mask around the television and duplicated my basketball game to run in the background and changed the colour's around and gave the tint a black and white effect to represent past events even though the footage plays at the same time these changes enhance the overall created images that created with some guidance and tips from Ethan who is A lot more skilled than ,e in using after effects so then came the last part of post production after silencing the second basketball footage i had to lower the first one so the atmosphere wouldn't dominate my commentary and what i gave in is what i could come up with also adding in some fading in and out effects to make the transitions from when i start talking to when i stop and also getting the footage to match what am saying when i am talking about a specific player was a plus i think a down side to my work would be if the overall footage was longer and if i Incorporated the team logo and added it in sliding past the two images that would of been a great plus but oddly after i had sent the Farnham lions logo to myself the image couldn't be loaded and i couldn't use it but apart from that i think i still am able to sell my presenter character very well and you can here the different in speech tone and eye contact as i am talking and it is a project that started very bitter but in the end i ended up happy with what i came up with
My 5 images have to represent different parts of me that i have Chosen to express
An African's Pride
This is the part of me that very few people know about i will use my african pennant and clothes to express my pride for my country and my royal heritage
The Poets stress I have shown glimpses of this side my creativity in my writing will be expressed through the hat that i wear and the note pad ill be holding
The beginning of an athlete I will dress up in my basketball gear and use my basketball and sport Jersey and medals as props
The gentalman
Nobody knows this side to me but i teach i share the knowledge i have a shirt and pen shall be used
Mother africa
This image will be the last imagie in my 5 peices i won't use any physical props the only prop will be my joy in my smile or maybe even one of my baby photo's because i still have a child heart i love to smile watch cartoons joke and even forgive and forget but also it shows my innocents as a baby
Every peice has a line of a poem in it and they are all untimely one piece
How does a prince reflect his roots?
Roots grow in different forms and are manifested differently
Learn from your roots and grow to teach others
Speak poetic parables into the lives of thoes who depend on you
Charity starts at home history and pride are reflected from your beginning so know them
I Took inspiration from two artist's Samuel Fosso And Omar Victor Diop Two African Photographer's that mean alot to me because of the way they express there art and what they use in the style of photography i combined the African print of Fosso and the portrait style of Diop and Made 5 portrait root reflections of me of my life in reverse starting from my most mature state of my wearing my African Native clothes to me in my suite and bow-tie and then me as a stressed poet trying to learn how to express myself my thoughts and feelings after that comes the last photograph and its a Photograph of a photo featuring me asleep as a baby being held by my mother to show wear everything starts my life from the beginning not knowing anything being completely relaxed and at peace with life also my Blue pendant is featured as a chain in every photo showing that i wear africa on my chest as i embrace and show it off in my first Photo to it being put on a heart around and me in my last photo with my mother holding me literally meaning mother africa with my mother in the photo and the african pendant around the image of me and my mum
I Also formed a open broken down to one or two lines that i will read per image this shows my development as a poet my skills in creating and directing imagies and my pride in myself in all forms collectively i have named the imagies the Five Roots Of Me they all show different sides of me that i have shared and expressed differently through things and art forms that i have embraced they all shape who i am i am proud of all art forms i also embrace my mother to me she is art she is poetic she is african she does teach she is gental and her and my father created me they are my beginning
I really loved doing this project i have to thank ann and daniel for helping me so much
this project taught me so much about taking my time in what i chose to create and shooting something more than once this photography project was tough because i wanted it to mean something since i was looking inwardly at my past and these characters and or images define me
I want to explore the laws of sound how is it generated how can we bend it mould it and use it what does it do for people mentally how do images relate to sound and what part do our voices and ears play in hearing and creating sound then i realised that has been alot of people's choice so my experimental film is to document people and ask them what their favourite song is if they have any moments attached to it and also looking into the psychological reasoning behind that and how particular type of music almost creats mood and feeling which in turn is expressed physically through action it could be the most predictable dance or tears and in some cases suicide
I went on YouTube for some examples for my sound manipulation and measuring idea but then i realised that alot of people have done this i hate being predictable or boring i like experimental films because its exactly that an experiment and an experience i want to tap into that with my film because i believe music and sound is part of our everyday life even as babies before we learn to actually form words we know how make noises and sound i want to explore all these types of memories with sound because i believe sound and memory are linkned
This is post dedicated to the question "what is experimental film" and I've chosen to take the angle and use my understanding "underground film" here is a quote from a review from and underground film
"A Reboursis a direct assault to the frontal lobe, an exercise of extreme imagery so intense, it leave the viewer feeling violated, not just via the senses the way a film can affect a person, but physically brutalized. If there were a DVD to transform its audience into a mass of jelly quivering in the corner unable to speak, to feel, to think, to be human, it’s this one. Nothing resembling humanity or “normal” societyexists on this DVD.A Rebourscreates its own universe and forces the viewer to live in it at gunpoint." This is a direct quote taken from a review from the page "Underground film journal" it highlights what underground film is to me it is a genre and a class of film making that is shot differently and gives you a different feeling when watching it because to me in watching an underground film you are almost in the film you become the film and the way people respond to certain things they see and hear and to me thats what experimental film is about its about putting the audience in a situation that focus them to react to whats happening in the film and mainstream to me is different its more planned out and has more stages and spaces within the film that gives you time to react underground film is more raw Andy Warhol
This is my experimental film based on the concept of time on an experimental format i had a week to do it and it was a fun task that shot on my phone i decided to use this style of recording because o felt like i could do more with less and given the time period i feel like i got the message across and my spoken word piece had a lasting effect on the audience because am relating what am saying to time along with the images to makes for a powerful peace of imagery
this is another experimental film created with throw back images of mine and a close person to me childhood pictures and also our grown up pictures i decided to use i picture of the London Eye as a metaphor and also as symbolic imagery to represent us migrating to London for a "Better Life" as a lot of africans don't make it over to London i used my heritage and roots as a narrative because its something i am aware of as a lot of african immigrants try to seek over to Britain because the "opportunity" that the imagine they could take advantage of being in London so understanding that and using these images to represent this and show the negative in the for of black and white and the positive in the coloured images is what wanted to do also highlight the differences in the change of music
