final piece

This is My final piece and is the image i wanted to Porte because its all my thoughts were finally put into one picture this image took a lot of cropping and cutting and curving to get the right colour and balance i wanted to get an image I'm satisfied with one that expresses my thoughts and imagination.

The Idea was to reflect myself and what defines me as a person there is a lot of props used in this picture like how i am wearing shoes in both pictures i used them as the foundation for what gives me comfort i wear Jordan's because the literally give me comfort walking around all day cleaning and taking jobs if i didn't think about what was best for me as i work then i would be very uncomfortable and would get blisters on my feet wearing "work shoes" also because its what keeps me going thinking about being a professional basketball player i feel like i was able to show a reflection of what is important to me and how far i want to reach in life by placing myself in the sky as a star because the stars themselves inspire me from how they always shine and never fade moreover howler they are stars are so far they aren't even seen properly we as humans only see what stars where and that in itself is a big thing for me and its why i chose to make myself a star because to me its the best type of metaphor to use because i want to put myself out of anyones reach in what i chose to do even if it isn't basketball this picture is very important to me the quote s something i made up it says "don't reach for the stars become one" emphasising my whole point in being a star but from the point of being someone who is successful and has gods glory shining in their life that is my goal and why this picture was created 

The Hunt For the Campus Cat ?!

Our documentary consists of a noir style genre/humour approach and my role in the team is to come up and creates music that fits the style of the documentary so as sound designer i have to create a whole other world for my group to work with and use it to give the documentary a solid foundation and an identity and create space for thought and emotion to manifest itself while maintaing enough space for the audience to have there own feelings towards the documentary i feel like my role is important so while it is good to have a strong musical foundation with background music to feel space i believe in my ability to create original music and sounds to add to the noir aspect of the film having a documentary with a noir twist allows me to be creative with the sounds and instruments used in the documentary

Above is the film sin city 2 and the sounds a style of this film is what i would refer to as a great film for noir mystery and a detective story line even though our group isn't going for a storyline as hard as this i think the way the directors sound producers and DOP was able blend all the different elements together is pretty cool to me

Hans Zimmer is my personal favourite in terms of composing music and his audio and mental imagination and genuis is what inspires me and makes me love sound even more his work pushes me and drives me and is why i chose to be the sound editor for our group in a field that i love a genre that i am constantly learning about and still find myself being able to more than i though within the genre of sound design

The hunt for the campus cat is based around a common known cat that roams around campus and goes by a lot of names and if rumoured to be owned by and elderly person some students even want to claim the cat for themselves and the our team felt as though the relationship between humans and pets would be an important part of the documentary because we can balance out how people feel about him and pets in general even if they are objective and don't like cats its nice to express that and show this relationship can be documented we wanted explore we also felt like we wanted a noir aspect to the decade scenes we came up with and had interviews filmed and our plan was to change the colour of the scenes and make them a particular tone and highlights to being a noir feel to the documentary





dr dre is an inspiration to me from the stand point of music sound and the way he reinvents himself as an artist and how he makes all his productions as a producer stand out and is another one of my sonically advanced examples within the sound and music culture

this is the end result of all our hard work i know i could of done more to help elevate the sound and completely stamp myself in the team but i believe with time i will be a better team orientated person

Ludachris has always been an influence of mine and he always has been someone who felt the need to be different and creative in all of his video he can make something thats simple look very creative and great a musical legend and an example i proudly show off the tint in his video here boats bright tinted scenes and influenced me a lot to me these are all music videos worth watching



so for this project i really wanted to put my stamp on it and do somethings that are different so i decided to go with a blue tint and increase the sharpness and control the background as a way to make the dancers stand out it gives the video a dream like state and adds to my theme in this video which are mirror image continuity and chemistry for me it was very hard to put a theme to a dance that didn't have much meaning

this video by young money was a great blend of dancing colours and music its also what inspires me even though to me the video to me made no sense in terms of meaning but i love the colours in the video and no to mention my favourite dance group of all time in in it i believe they are true dancers

The above photos are example of sports photography that i feel like i can emulate and relate to. The photographers each have their own style and stamp on these photos. They all picked different times to take the photos and also edited them differently and some didn't. Some here are self portraits they all give me a sense of style and timing i like these photos and they are all tools and research for me in my self portrait Project. They are all different but they all help put ideas and timing into prospective, and allows me to figure out how i want to take my pictures. The shutters speed, the lighting, whether its in studio or its being shot as the sport is being played. They all have there reasons and angles in the photo you can see the emotions in the photos being portrayed by each individual.

This is my first powerful image of a 20stone leopard taking down a crocodile this picture was taken by Justin black I chose this image because of the rawness in it for me it is an example of power and action that exists in the jungle

•peter Kennard was unofficial war photographer that has taken and reconfigured many photos not just about war but about politics and children trafficking and I feel his pictures are inspiring to me

•Danny Treacy a Photographer I have taken a liking to because of the way he manipulates images and the way he uses his colour to create intriguing and thought provoking pictures

•Deborah willis is a professor and photographer in the new York university she has survived Brest cancer and takes pictures based on the perception of beauty and the bases of black culture

immersion

The above images are the before and after of some ideas for my self portrait project. This is a before  and after that shows the depth and the quality of the picture once i added the air brush and black & white effect. As you can see this is me in my work clothes but i am also wearing basketball shoes as a metaphor and symbol as me still relaying on them and using them as my foundation for comfort & joy as i work. Most people would wear shoes designed for work i wear shoes of my preference and what would make me happy.

So where do I begin when talking about me well all i can say is that I am An artist who likes music, art, Photography, comics and graphic novels. These are thing that i enjoy my passion burns the strongest for the sport of basketball. I see basketball as an art and everyone on your team has their own picture to paint. Each player and or artist has a position to play or a their own paint brush to help paint. so hear i am studying DFSA trying to find a place for my self expression in the genre that i pick  within digital film and screen arts. i believe this course will allow me to find something to be a professional in and then find the right place for the art i create. It can be some photography, it can be cinematography, sound engineering, spoken word or whatever i feel i can express myself in the same way i do in  my basketball. this is my journey in finding myself and what I'm comfortable taking on as a profession.
